NEET PG 2024 Exam Date: The students who were/are appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) this year, at both undergraduate (NEET-UG) and postgraduate (NEET-PG) level, have been going through quite a turmoil. While the UG students are dealing with the NEET UG Paper Leak Controversy, the NEET PG Exam Postponement has been on the minds of the postgraduate students. Amid the ongoing NEET paper leak controversy, the NEET PG 2024 was postponed a day before the scheduled exam date and it was said that the new date will be announced soon. The latest update hints at the time when the NEET PG New Exam Date announcement will be made by the National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Here’s all you need to know…

NEET PG 2024 New Exam Date


As mentioned earlier, the NEET-PG Exam 2024 had been rescheduled and postponed for another date amid the ongoing NEET UG Paper Leak Row because this exam too was being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). While a final date for the postgraduate exam is yet to be announced, the latest reports suggest that the announcement will be made by the National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) next week. This information has been told to ANI by the Board President Abhijat Sheth.

This statement comes Sheth’s after a review meeting held between officials of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences and the Union Health Ministry, to access the situation and input received by the government before postponing the examination. The government has postponed the NEET-PG 2024 examinations following rising controversy regarding alleged exam “irregularities” in the NEET-UG exam held on May 5.

NEET UG Paper Leak Case Latest Update


Regarding the NEET UG Paper Leak Case, Bihar government on Monday issued a notification regarding handing over the NEET-UG paper leak case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Multiple arrests have been made in the case and the police is also looking out for the other accused including Sanjeev ‘Mukhiya’ who is allegedly the mastermind of this paper leak. The issue of the paper leak was also brought up by the Opposition during the ongoing Lok Sabha Session.

NEET PG 2024: Exam Pattern


Speaking about the exam pattern, the NEET PG 2024 is held online in the computer-based testing (CBT) mode and the duration of the examination is three hours and thirty minutes. The examination is conducted ONLY in English and a total of 200 questions are to be answered by the candidates. The NEET PG 2024 Question Paper has multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and it is divided into a total of three sections –

  1. Part A: This section includes the subjects – Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry.
  2. Part B: This section includes Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine and Social and Preventive Medicine.
  3. Part C: The last section of the paper includes General Medicine including Dermatology and Venereology and Psychiatry, General Surgery including Orthopedics Anesthesia and Radiodiagnosis, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT and Ophthalmology.
