The National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced post-doctoral fellowship courses in medical colleges, aiming to promote research and clinical skill development. This move replaces the previous practice of colleges creating and approving these courses themselves. The NMC's new regulations ensure that once a medical college is granted permission to start a postgraduate course, it will be recognized.
