National Librarians’ Day Celebrated at AMU

Aligarh : The Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University celebrated the National Librarians’ Day on August 12, the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, who is known as the Father of Library Science in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. M. Masoom Raza, Chairperson of the Department said that Dr. S. R. Ranganathan immensely contributed to the cause of libraries and his writings continue to guide library practices globally.

Prof. Naushad Ali. P.M, Prof. Nishat Fatima, Dr. Mohammad Nazim, Dr. Muzamil Mushtaq and Dr. Keshwar Jahan also spoke on the contributions of Dr Ranganathan, in the field of Library and Information Science.

Dr. Muzamil Mushtaq conducted the programme, while Dr. Keshwar Jahan proposed a vote of thanks.
