The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed the major task of “promoting the construction of a healthy China” and emphasized the need to “pay attention to mental health and mental health.” Seventeen departments including the Ministry of Education jointly issued the “Special Action Plan to Comprehensively Strengthen and Improve Student Mental Health in the New Era”, which clarified that “five educations should be promoted simultaneously to promote mental health.” On May 12, the launching ceremony and first event of the national “12355 Love ‘Heart’ 100 Schools Tour” was held in Nanjing, sponsored by the Youth Rights and Interests Protection Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Grassroots Construction Department, and hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League and Nanjing Audit University. Nanjing University Student Psychology Association relied on the guidance of the school psychology center and was successfully selected into the “Top 100 National Mental Health Societies” tracked and cultivated by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the National Federation of Students, and was invited to participate in this event. Yue Wei, director of the Youth Rights Protection Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and his delegation came to the exhibition area of the Student Psychological Association of our school to observe and give full recognition and guidance to the work of the Psychological Association of our school.

Yue Wei first observed the activities of our school’s Heart Association’s “Emotional Interactor” and “Smart Hands to Warm the Heart”. The activities were both interesting and innovative, with a large number of participants, and truly solidly promoted the “simultaneous development of five educations to promote mental health.” Minister Yue Wei fully affirmed the promotion of mental health in our school. He pointed out that in the face of some students who are relatively closed-minded and unwilling to take the initiative to ask for help, and even have a great stigma against psychological counseling and support, Nanjing University uses the WeChat public account , short videos, websites and other new media disseminate mental health knowledge, guide contemporary college students to correctly understand “mental health diseases”, integrate ideological, intellectual, and healing aspects, and play a good role model in colleges and universities across the country.

Yue Wei also encouraged students from various college mental health associations across the country to continue to adhere to strict management, improve professional quality and service skills, and create a team of responsible and caring mental health talents to provide colleges and universities in a critical period of mental health construction. The student group provides higher-quality psychological education and services to help students move forward bravely and boldly on the road to pursuing their dreams in life and dedicating themselves to the construction of a powerful country.

Luo Xiaonan, instructor of Nanjing University Student Psychology Association, and member representatives Zhang Ziyue, Qin Lang, Tang Zhengke, Li Jinxiao and others participated in the event.

It is reported that this “12355 Love ‘Heart’ Hundred Schools Tour” lasts for two days, and has three major theme activities: “Psychological Market” university mental health activity results exhibition, youth psychological growth roundtable discussion, and mental health community building experience sharing. More than 120 university mental health societies from 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country participated in the event, joining hands to meet the opportunities and challenges of the development of campus mental health education in the new era.
