1 Mukesh Ambani becomes India’s richest person in Hurun list
According to the recently released 360 One Wealth Hurun India Rich List for 2023 , Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has overtaken Adani Group’s Gautam Adani to become the richest Indian . The wealth of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani increased marginally by 2 percent and reached Rs 8.08 lakh crore. Adani Group chief Gautam Adani’s wealth saw a significant decline. His wealth declined by 57 percent to Rs 4.74 lakh crore, mainly due to the huge fall in the stock market of his group companies. The decline was triggered by a report by US-based short seller, Hindenburg Research, which alleged accounting fraud and stock market manipulation within the Adani Group. Serum Institute of India (SII) Managing Director and Chairman Cyrus Poonawalla has retained his position as India’s third richest person. His wealth increased by 36 percent to Rs 2.78 lakh crore. HCL Technologies founder and chairman Shiv Nadar maintained his position as the fourth richest Indian.
2 Cabinet approves royalty rates for mining of three critical and strategic minerals – Lithium, Niobium and Rare Earth Elements (REEs)
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (‘MMDR Act) to fix the rate of royalty in respect of three critical and strategic minerals Lithium, Niobium and Rare Earth Elements (REEs). ‘) has approved the amendment in the Second Schedule . Recently, the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2023 was passed by the Parliament, which has come into force from August 17, 2023. The amendment, among other things, has removed six minerals, including lithium and niobium, from the list of nuclear minerals, allowing the private sector to award concessions for these minerals through auctions. Further, the amendment provides that mining leases and composite licenses of 24 critical and strategic minerals (which are listed in Part D of the First Schedule of the Act) including lithium, niobium and REE (without uranium and thorium) will be auctioned through Centre. Will be done by the government.
3. Cabinet approves MoU between India and Trinidad and Tobago on cooperation in the field of sharing successful digital solutions implemented at population scale for digital transformation
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved cooperation between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Digital Transformation Technology of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the field of sharing successful digital solutions implemented at population scale for digital transformation. Has given its approval to an MoU to be signed on August 11, 2023. The objective of this MoU is to promote closer cooperation in the implementation of digital transformation initiatives of both the countries and exchange of experiences and solutions based on digital technologies (such as India Stack). The MoU will be effective from the date of signature by both the parties and will remain in force for a period of 3 years.

The MoU aims to promote closer collaboration, exchange of experiences and digital technology-based solutions (i.e. India Stack) in implementing digital transformation initiatives of both the countries. The MoU will be effective from the date of signature by both the parties and will remain in force for a period of 3 years.

7 Union Minister Anurag Thakur launches animation series ‘KTB-Bharat Hain Hum’
Union Minister Shri Anurag Thakur launched the trailer of ‘ Krish, Trish and Baltiboy (KTB)-Bharat Hain Hum ‘, a two-season animated series produced by Central Communications Bureau , Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Graffiti Studio . The series consists of 52 episodes of 11 minutes each, covering stories of the Indian freedom struggle from the year 1500 to 1947 . The series is hosted by the iconic animated characters Kris, Trish and Baltiboy. The series is produced by the co-producing duo of Munjal Shroff and Tilakraj Shetty of Graffiti Studios. ‘Bharat Hain Hum’ animation series will be launched on Doordarshan , Amazon Prime Video and Netflix from 15th of this month. Shri Thakur said that this unique effort has been made in 12 Indian languages and 7 international languages so that not only the country but the entire world can be aware of our brave heroes. He said that after independence, students were told about only a few selected people but there are many people like Birsa Munda, Rani Abbakka, who played an important role in the freedom struggle.
8 India became the vice-chairman of the Indian Ocean Rim Organization, Sri Lanka assumed the chairmanship.
The 23rd Council of Ministers meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) was held in Colombo. On this occasion, Sri Lanka took over the chairmanship from Bangladesh . Sri Lanka will chair this association from 2023 to 2025 . India has assumed the post of Vice-President of the institution for the next two years . The vision of IORA came to light in the year 1995 during the visit of the then President of South Africa , Nelson Mandela to India, where he said, “The Indian Ocean Region has developed a strategic partnership for socio-economic cooperation in the light of the concept of natural inspiration of the facts of history and geography.” Countries must strengthen themselves. ” This led to the Indian Ocean Rim Initiative in March 1995 and the Indian Ocean Rim Association (then known as the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation) in March 1997 . Currently IORA has 23 member states and 11 dialogue partners .
9 Election Commission amended the Rajasthan Assembly election date, voting will be held on November 25 instead of November 23.
Voting for the assembly elections in Rajasthan will now be held on 25th November instead of 23rd November . The Election Commission has changed the date of voting in view of large-scale marriages and social events on 23 November. The Commission had received proposals in this regard from various political parties and social organizations. It was said that these events could have caused inconvenience to a large number of people, which could have also reduced voter participation. The Election Commission has not made any changes in the date of notification, withdrawal of names and counting of votes. Counting of votes for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram will take place on December 3 .
10 Space on Wheels exhibition ongoing in Arunachal Pradesh concludes
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in collaboration with Vigyan Bharati is organizing an exhibition named Space on Wheels in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh . Its objective is to provide information about satellites, launch vehicles and communication systems to the students and curious people of the region at their doorstep. 12 Shri Shantanu Thakur inaugurates dredging work on National Waterway-44, Ichamati River in West Bengal
A significant dredging work has been undertaken by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways on National Waterway 44 , which includes Ichamati River in West Bengal . The objective of this project is to increase the navigation depth of Ichamati River, which will help in enhancing its ability to manage tidal impacts. The Ichamati River, which serves as the border between India and Bangladesh, flows through the two countries and has three distinct sections. Apart from this, Oxbow Lake located in North 24-Parganas district of West Bengal is also the source. However, it faces challenges due to accumulation of silt in the river, which reduces its flow during the dry season and increases the possibility of floods during the rainy season. National waterways like Ichamati are essential for transportation; India has 111 such inland waterways spanning a total of 14,500 kilometres. The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) oversees their development and regulation, facilitating the movement of approximately 55 million tonnes of cargo annually through inland water transport (IWT).
13 Government approves setting up of Mera Yuva Bharat, an autonomous body to focus on youth development and youth-led development
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the establishment of an autonomous body named ‘ My Youth India ‘ ( MY Bharat ). It aims to act as a comprehensive enabling mechanism driven by technology for youth development and youth-led development and to realize the aspirations of the youth by providing equitable access and building a developed India across the entire spectrum of government. The primary objective of My Youth India (MY Bharat) is to make it a whole of government platform for youth development. Under the new dispensation, youth, with access to resources and exposure to opportunities, will become agents of change and nation builders and can act as youth bridges between the government and citizens. This system will utilize immense youth energy for nation building. My Young India (MY Bharat), will be an autonomous body. In line with the definition of ‘youth’ given in the National Youth Policy, youth in the age group of 15-29 years will benefit from it. In the case of program components specifically tailored for adolescents, the beneficiaries will be in the age group of 10-19 years.

15 India’s urban unemployment rate declined
The unemployment rate has decreased in urban areas of India . According to the latest data from the National Sample Survey Bureau (NSSO) , the unemployment rate for persons aged 15 years and above in urban areas declined to 6.6 percent during April-June 2023 , from 7.6 percent a year ago. Unemployment was high in the country during the April-June period last year, the main reason for which could be the restrictions imposed in the country due to Covid. The 19th Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) revealed that the unemployment rate (UR) for persons aged 15 years and above in urban areas stood at 7.6 per cent in April-June 2022.

Iran ‘s Mohammadreza Shadlui Chayaneh became the most expensive foreign player in the auction and was bought by Puneri Paltan for Rs 2.35 crore. Shadlui’s compatriot Fazal Atrachali became the second most expensive foreign player and was bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 1.60 crore. At third place in this list is Maninder Singh, who has been included in the team of Bengal Warriors by spending Rs 2.12 crore.
20 International Day of the Girl
Recently, a 21-year-old woman from Chennai got the opportunity to spend an entire day in the role of a diplomat after winning a competition organized by the British High Commission to commemorate the International Day of the Girl 2023. International Day of the Girl, celebrated every year on 11 October, was celebrated for the first time in the year 2012. In 1995, an action plan to promote the rights of the girl child was proposed by the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. In 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare October 11 as International Girls’ Day. The objective of this day is to promote the importance of girls’ education, their rights and gender equality.
