Mr. Cricket Micheal Hussey inaugurates the prestigious annual event, 10th Edition of Pavit Singh Nayar Memorial T20 All India Inter Collegiate Cricket Tournament for Men & Women – 2024 at Guru Nanak College!
The grand inauguration of the 10th Edition of the Pavit Singh Nayar Memorial Intercollegiate T20, All-India Intercollegiate Cricket Tournament for Men & Women 2024 was held on March 18. Chief Guest, Mr. Cricket – Michael Hussey, CSK Batting Coach, Former Australian Cricketer inaugurated along with the Guest of Honour Shri. M. Thiyagarajan, Senior Area Manager, Hero MotoCorp and Mr. Kasi Viswanathan, CEO, CSK. Hussey in his address said, “It’s great to see the growing talents. The Game is played to enjoy but the most important thing is to develop relationships and mutual respect.

A game must be played with the spirit of enjoying, winning and losing is just a part of it”. Mr. Manjit Singh Nayar, General Secretary and Correspondent said, “Hero Motocorp and GNC have gone a long way to bring out talents in Cricket and this ground has produced many. In any sports event GNC has bagged prizes many times at National and international arena.
Along with Academics, sports and Skill Development have also been given importance. Under 19 girls recently won laurels in an event jointly organized with HCL”.
The event is sponsored by Southern Motorcycles, Hero Motocorp, Lifestyle. As every year this year too attractive prizes are announced in the tournament. The winning teams will get INR 50,000, while runners up take-home INR 25,000. There are individual prizes for each match with Man of the Match and Woman of the Match, while the finals will have INR 5,000 Cash prizes and mementos for Best Batter, Best Bowler, Best All Rounder, Best Fielder, Best Wicket Keeper as well as Best Cricketer of the tournament. In addition, the Player of the Series (Men) will get a Hero Motorcycle worth over INR 1,20,000 and the Player of the Series (Women) will get a Hero scooter worth about INR 93,500. This year too, 16 men teams pan India and 10 Women teams are participating with zeal and vigour.
