Nepal ‘s famous mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa has broken her own world record for climbing Mount Everest the most number of times. This 54-year-old mountaineer reached this 8,849 meter high peak for the 29th time on Sunday morning. Twenty climbers were involved in this mountaineering expedition organized by Seven Summit Tracks.

2 Ban on construction of four proposed dams inside Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary​

Recently the Supreme Court stayed the construction of four proposed dams inside the Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary in Haryana ‘s Yamunanagar district as the construction would not only have a negative impact on the wildlife and the local community but would also damage the ecosystem . It was established in 1988 to protect the local wildlife and biodiversity and was declared a national park on 8 December 2003 . It is located in the foothills of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas and is adjacent to Rajaji National Park ( Uttarakhand ) and Simbalbara National Park ( Himachal Pradesh ). Spread over 13,209 acres, it is rich in biodiversity, with dense sal and khair forests and grasslands that support diverse plant and animal life. It is home to many species of animals, including leopard, sambar deer, barking deer, hyena, jackal, Indian porcupine, Indian pangolin and langur and many species of birds.

Mr Suzuki also visited Kohima Cathedral and the World War II Museum at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.

India updated its climate change commitments in 2022, aiming to reduce GDP emissions intensity by 45% below 2005 levels by 2030 and to have 50% of its electricity capacity from non-fossil sources by the same year. India also highlighted the formation of the International Big Cat Alliance, another important initiative aimed at protecting and conserving the seven big cat species across the world through collaborative international efforts. India also shared the launch of the ‘Green Credit Programme’, which is designed to incentivize institutions for tree plantation and restoration of degraded forest land. It aims to further strengthen climate action initiatives. UNFF-19 concluded with a declaration to take immediate and rapid action to stop deforestation and forest degradation and land erosion. These include the implementation of the United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests and the achievement of global forest targets. Researchers at Cochin University of Science and Technology have named the newly discovered marine tardigrade species from the south-eastern coast of Tamil Nadu as Batillipes chandrayaani in honor of the Chandrayaan-3 moon mission . It was found in the sandy area between high and low tide marks in Mandapam, Tamil Nadu. This tardigrade is the 39th type of tardigrade classified under the name Batylips. It has a head that looks like a trapezoid and four pairs of legs with sharp spines for sensing things.
