The Gujarat government has signed an MoU with London-based company OneWeb and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to set up two 'Satellite Network Portal Sites'. One of the sites is to be launched in Jotana, Mehsana, Gujarat. The project is intended to provide high-speed, affordable, and secure satellite internet access across the country, with a focus on villages, district panchayats, local administrative bodies, and government departments.
