Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur hosted its much-anticipated Alumni Day 2024, continuing a tradition that has been celebrated with immense enthusiasm and grandeur for the past 11 years. The event brought together alumni from across the decades, along with their families, for a heartwarming reunion at their alma mater.
This year’s celebration was highlighted by the felicitation of alumni from the Golden Jubilee Batch (1974 Entry Batch) and the Silver Jubilee Batch (1999 Graduation Batch). The event began with a traditional welcome at the institute’s main gate, where alumni were greeted with tilak, safa, and dhol. This was followed by a breakfast gathering at the Central Lawn, setting the tone for a memorable day.
The main event featured a formal felicitation ceremony during which alumni were honored with mementos in recognition of their contributions and achievements. A key highlight was the announcement by the Golden Jubilee Batch to establish a scholarship fund for needy students. Additionally, the 1973 Batch and the MNIT Jaipur Alumni Association, led by Mr. Jagdish Mishra and Dr. Ashish Dutt Sharma respectively, donated two electric golf carts to facilitate internal movement on campus.
Distinguished speakers at the event included Prof. N. P. Padhy, Director of MNIT Jaipur; Prof. Dilip Sharma, Dean of International and Alumni Affairs; Dr. Pawan Kalla, Associate Dean of Alumni Affairs; Dr. Ashish Dutt Sharma, President of the MNIT Jaipur Alumni Association; and Mr. Mahendra Meena, Secretary of MNITJAA.
The celebration was filled with nostalgia as alumni shared cherished memories and expressed their gratitude to the institute for shaping their lives. The event also included the release of the latest edition of Alumni Times and the felicitation of retired faculty members.
The day concluded with a group photograph and a sumptuous lunch, leaving everyone with lasting memories of camaraderie and pride in being part of the MNIT legacy.
