At just 22, Sulochana Meena, a young girl from a village in Rajasthan, achieved her goal of joining the IAS on her first attempt. Through relentless determination and hard work, she fulfilled her father’s dream and became one of the youngest IAS officers in India. Hailing from Adalwada village in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district, Sulochana Meena sat for the UPSC Civil Services Examination-2021 and scored All India Rank (AIR) 415. She belonged to the ST category.

She scored 762 marks in the written examination and 171 marks in the personality test. Overall, she scored 933 marks. She completed her schooling in her hometown before moving to Delhi, India’s capital, for her higher education. Later, she earned her graduation degree in botany from Delhi University.

From an early age, Sulochana Meena dreamed of becoming an IAS officer. During her UPSC preparation, she dedicated 8–9 hours daily to studying with unwavering commitment. She supplemented her preparation by solving mock tests and utilizing free resources available on platforms like YouTube and Telegram, while placing significant emphasis on NCERT books. Presently, Sulochana Meena is posted in Jharkhand, serving as an IAS officer.
