Cracking the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE)– one of the toughest in the country– can be a cakewalk for a few, but for the majority of aspirants, the road to becoming an IAS, IPS, or an IRS officer is paved with hardships and setbacks, which forces many to quit after years of failures. However, those who persist and persevere, often taste success at the end of their journey.

One such example is Priyanka Goel, a young IAS officer from Delhi who failed to clear the UPSC CSE in her first five attempts but persevered and refused to give up, and ultimately cracked the tough exam with flying colours in her 6th and final attempt with an impressive All-India Rank (AIR) of 369.

Who is IAS Priyanka Goel?

Born and brought up in Delhi, Priyanka Goel completed her schooling in the national capital and later earned a B.Com degree from the Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Delhi University, following which she began to prepare for UPSC exams to fulfill her dream of becoming an IAS officer.

Unfortunately, instant success was not in Priyanka’s stars as she failed to even pass the UPSC CSE prelims in her first four attempts. However, despite repeated failures, Priyanka remained undeterred and continued to prepare harder, expanding her knowledge base by working on her weak areas.

Success at last!

After failing to clear the UPSC exam in her first five attempts, Priyanka Goel decided to reflect on her weak areas, and decided that self-study was the way forward. Ultimately, the Delhi girl cracked UPSC CSE in her 6th and last attempt, securing an impressive AIR of 369 in UPSC 2022.

As per her marksheet, Priyanka aced her optional subject, public administration, scoring 292 out of 300. Her total score was 965, including 193 marks in the interview.

Apart from her remarkable UPSC success, Priyanka also has a strong social media presence, with over 2.2 lakh followers on her Instagram page.
