Here is a success story of IAS officer Yashni Nagarajan, who cleared the competitive examination while working full-time.

Meet woman, who got AIR 57 in the UPSC exam along with a full-time job​


IAS Yashni Nagarajan cleared the examination in 2019 by securing All India Rank(AIR)57. Speaking of her educational qualification, IAS Yashni Nagarajan completed her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Naharlagun. Later in 2014, she finished her B.Tech in EEE from the National Institute of Engineering, Yupia. It is reported that she cleared the UPSC examination on her fourth attempt.

She has started her blog to motivate candidates and share with them tricks and tips to clear the competitive examination. “I have appeared in CS Examination four times. Gave mains thrice, reached the interview stage all three times and made it to the coveted list twice, this time with a double-digit rank,” reads her blog post. After graduating, Yashni secured a job at the Reserve Bank of India. Despite working full-time at RBI, she continued her preparation for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Her father, Thangavel Nagarajan, is a retired state PWD engineer, while her mother is a retired superintendent from the Itanagar branch of the Gauhati High Court Registry.
