It is often said that with foresight, determination, and discipline, achieving one’s goals becomes easier. This saying perfectly applies to Ananya Singh, who became an IAS officer at the young age of 22. Ananya Singh is an inspiration for the youth, proving that hard work and a focused approach can lead to success, even on the first attempt.

Some individuals take years of relentless effort to achieve their goals, while others accomplish their dreams on their very first try. Ananya Singh’s story is one of the latter. She cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination on her very first attempt and became an IAS officer. Such a feat at such a young age makes her a role model for aspiring civil servants. She is destined to reach the top ranks, including the Chief Secretary’s post, in her career.

A brilliant student since childhood

Hailing from Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Ananya Singh was always academically gifted. She completed her early education at St. Mary’s Convent School in Prayagraj. She achieved an impressive 96% in her 10th-grade board exams and 98.25% in her 12th-grade exams, emerging as the district topper. After completing her schooling, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Honors) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi.

A childhood dream to become an IAS officer

From a young age, Ananya dreamed of becoming an IAS officer and serving the nation. She began preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination during her final year of graduation. She dedicated 7-8 hours daily to studying, adhering to a well-structured timetable.

Rigorous preparation for UPSC

Ananya’s journey to success involved disciplined and consistent effort. She managed her time effectively, creating a detailed study plan and sticking to it. To build a strong foundation, she initially devoted long hours to studying. Once her concepts were clear, she slightly reduced her study hours.

For her preparation, Ananya compiled a list of books and gathered study material aligned with the UPSC syllabus. She meticulously made notes during her study sessions, which, she stated in an interview, served two purposes: writing notes helped her retain answers better, and it simplified the revision process.

Achieving all-India rank 51 in UPSC

Ananya Singh’s hard work paid off when she cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination in her first attempt in 2019, securing an All-India Rank (AIR) of 51. With just a year of focused preparation, she fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer, inspiring countless aspirants with her dedication and success story.
