Cracking the prestigious UPSC examination is not something everyone can achieve. While lakhs of aspirants take the exam, only a few hundred qualify. It’s easy to assume that only meritorious students can succeed in this challenging exam, and that those who haven’t performed well since high school or intermediate exams cannot even clear the prelims. However, there are exceptions, and today we will discuss one such case.
Meet IAS officer Tushar D Sumera. Sumera proved that even if an individual was not a good student in the past, if he dreams of something big like UPSC, he can achieve it through hard work and dedication.
Tushar Sumera cleared the IAS exam in 2012. His story is quite interesting. Tushar’s 10 th marksheet was shared by a senior IAS officer Awanish Sharan and it went viral on social media.
Tushar had somehow managed a few numbers more than passing marks in Science, Maths and English in Class 10th examination. He scored 35 marks in English, 36 marks in Mathematics and just 38 in Science.
Today, Sumera’s marksheet has become aspirational for several students who give up if they did not qualify in any exam.
After graduating in Arts, Sumera worked as a teacher and then later he started preparations for UPSC. He cleared the examination in 2012. At present, Tushar Sumera is posted as District Magistrate in Gujarat’s Bharuch.
