If you’re preparing for the UPSC Civil Services examination, you must have heard of Dr. Vikas Divyakirti. The digital guru is a well-known educator and founder of Drishti IAS, a prominent coaching institute for the UPSC civil services examination. Dr Vikas Divyakirti, founder and MD of Drishti IAS, is highly regarded for his expertise in the subjects of General Studies, particularly in Indian Polity, History, and Current Affairs. Known for his insightful and engaging teaching style, Divyakirti has helped several aspirants to achieve success in the UPSC exams. Speaking of him, let’s meet one of the closest family members.

Hailing from Bhiwani, Haryana, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti was born on December 26, 1973. He is a well-known name among UPSC aspirants. After pursuing his Master’s degree in Hindi literature in 1995, he appeared for the civil services examination in 1996 and secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 384 on his first attempt. Although he was offered the post of CISF Commandant, he was not keen on the role, and due to medical reasons, he did not take it up. Instead, he joined the Ministry of Home Affairs as a desk officer, but he chose to leave this position in 1997 to pursue his passion for teaching.

Presently, Dr. Vikas is actively involved as an educator in creating content for YouTube. He has a dream to see our society having a ‘Culture of Discourses’ wherein social-political issues are understood through free & constructive discussions and not by enforced consensus or herd mentality.

In 1998, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti married Dr. Taruna Verma, a highly educated individual who holds a PhD and serves as the Director at Drishti IAS. Known for her leadership, Dr. Verma plays a pivotal role in the operations of the coaching institute, which is renowned for its UPSC preparation programs.

Dr. Vikas Divyakirti’s decision to resign from his position in the Ministry of Home Affairs was driven by his passion for education rather than continuing in the civil service. At the time of his resignation, he still had four attempts left for the UPSC exam, but he was already teaching at a college in Delhi. Following his departure from the ministry, he founded Drishti IAS in 1999, which has since grown into one of India’s leading coaching institutes for UPSC aspirants

‘Drishti The Vision’ was founded on November 1, 1999. Since then, it has been a beacon of excellence in the field of Civil Services Examination preparation and one of the top choices for those preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE).
