The journey of Musthafa began in a small village in Kerala’s Wayanad, where born and raised in a low-middle-class family. His father was a daily wage labourer and life was tough. After dropping out in Class 6th, Musthafa started helping his father on the farm. At that time his daily income was just Rs 10, and he and his siblings did various odd jobs, like selling firewood, to support the family. At the age of just 10, he managed to earn Rs 150, which he used as his first investment.
A teacher intervened and helped Musthafa return to school and continue his studies. He made further investments, such as selling a goat to buy a cow, which provided the family with a regular income from selling milk. With some savings and good fortune, Musthafa got admitted to the National Institute of Technology (NIT) to study computer science. After graduating, he got an IT job at Motorola and later moved to Citibank in Dubai.
A significant turning point came to Musthafa’s life when he returned to India to pursue an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. During his study, Musthafa his cousins started a business in 2005. They started producing dosa and idli batter. With an initial investment of Rs 50,000, they launched a ready-to-eat packaged food startup, marking the beginning of iD Fresh Food.
The company found success when Musthaf and his cousins started supplying idli and dosa batter, significantly increasing their market presence.
Today, iD Fresh Foods is famous for its high-quality breakfasts, which are distinguished by its commitment to using only natural ingredients without any chemicals.
