Manuj Jindal, a 2017 batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra Cadre cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination(CSE) 2016 and secured All India Rank 53. Jindal hails from Ghaziabad. Jindal moved to Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for his schooling. When he attained the age of 18, Jindal cracked the UPSC NDA examination. He achieved All India Rank(AIR) 18 in the UPSC NDA exam.
During his training, he initially excelled in the first term but faced a significant mental health challenge in the second term. Struggling with anxiety and depression, his condition worsened, leading to his disqualification from the course by the academy. Following this significant setback, he chose to pursue his studies abroad and graduated from the University of Virginia. Manuj received a job offer from Barclays, where he worked for three years with a good salary. Eventually, he moved back to India, where his younger brother was preparing for the UPSC exam.
Inspired, Manuj decided to join the UPSC preparation as well. In 2014, Manuj appeared for the exam, successfully clearing both the prelims and mains, but did not make it to the final list.
During his second attempt, Manuj cracked the exam but was placed on the reserve list. It was during his third attempt in 2017, that he successfully cleared the UPSC exam, securing an impressive All India Rank 53.
Talking about his UPSC CSE Main Result 2016, Manuj Jindal, who obtained All India Rank(AIR) 53, scored 888 in his written examination and 165 marks on the personality test respectively. Overall he secured 1053 marks. He even runs a YouTube channel where he offers guidance and teaches students about UPSC preparation.
