Success Story: In today’s world, stepping into business is not easy due to tremendous competition. It is often said that a great idea, not money, is crucial for starting a business — but is this even practical? A man from Haryana has proven it by turning his brilliant idea into a Rs 15 crore turnover business. Today, he earns crores by selling pizza. However, starting his pizza business wasn’t without challenges, as he faced several difficulties on his journey to success. We are talking about Sandeep Jangra, the founder of Pizza Galleria, who turned his failures into success with a brilliant business idea. Let’s hear his story.

Who Is Sandeep Jangra?

Sandeep Jangra is a resident of Gohana, a town in Sonipat, Haryana. He comes from a lower-middle-class family. Jangra’s father was a carpenter who made traditional Indian beds (charpoys). It was difficult to run the household on his father’s income alone. To support his family, Sandeep decided to earn money and started working in a factory at a very young age. However, his family didn’t know that he was working.

Failed in Engineering

Sandeep started his engineering degree studies in 2009, but he lacked interest, leading him to repeatedly fail exams. Due to lack of interest, he took six to seven years to complete a four-year degree. After graduation, he started working for a company in Gurugram. However, after working for two years with no increment, he decided to quit the job and return home.

Mother Gave Her Entire Savings

Sandeep’s father hoped he would set up a carpentry shop just like his own, but Sandeep had different dreams. In 2015, living in Gurugram, he tasted pizza for the first time and it sparked a new passion in him. Sandeep had an idea to start his own pizza business. With a deep dive into pizza-making training, he decided to bring this global delicacy to his own small town. To back her son’s dream Sandeep’s mother gave all of her savings into opening their very own pizza shop in their hometown.

Multi-Crore Company

In 2015, Sandeep introduced Pizza Galleria in his home town – Gohana, marking the beginning of a new era in the pizza business. Before the grand opening, he launched a robust marketing campaign to introduce and promote the pizza concept among the locals, which was highly successful. Eventually, the business expanded to Sonipat marking its second outlet. Today, the growing business operates across 32 outlets nationwide providing employment to nearly 600 people. A significant boost to the brand’s reputation was Sandeep’s appearance on ‘Shark Tank,’ a widely-watched television show. As of now, Pizza Galleria enjoys an impressive annual turnover of approximately Rs 25 crore.
