NEET Success Story: Success is often portrayed as a destination, but it is truly a journey characterized by resilience, hard work, and unwavering dedication. It emerges not merely from talent or opportunity but from the relentless pursuit of one’s dreams, often in the face of significant obstacles. Speaking on the same line, meet Kashmiri teen who used to sell naan and cleared NEET with marks…
At the age of 19, Sajad Mehraj from Kashmir became an inspiring example of perseverance and hard work. He scored a total of 650 out of 750 in the NEET UG exam while working at a naan stall to support his family.
A glimpse into Sajad’s daily routine reveals his dedication. He wakes up at 4 AM and spends seven to eight hours each day at his stall, baking around 300 naans. Despite his demanding schedule, he managed to attend online lectures from Physics Wallah and keep up with his studies, all while fulfilling his household responsibilities. This commitment was sparked by a classmate who once suggested he was wasting his time on education. However, encouragement from his sister, a practicing doctor, motivated him to prove the naysayers wrong.
The 19-year-old teen boy excelled in school, ranking at the top of his local cluster in eighth grade and receiving a scholarship from the Kashmir Education Initiative in ninth grade. In a further show of support, his headmaster purchased a course from Physics Wallah for Rs 2,000 to help him pursue his dream and goals.
Sajad has received tremendous support from his family. His father, despite being illiterate, has always prioritized education for his children. He notably resisted societal pressures to take his daughter out of school, allowing both of his children to pursue their dreams.
As per the media reports, Sajad is preparing to enroll in the Government Medical College in Handwara. In a remarkable gesture, Alakh Pandey from Physics Wallah has agreed to cover all of Sajad’s college expenses, enabling him to focus entirely on his studies without the burden of financial worries.
