Hailing from Nurpur, Himachal Pradesh, Akrit Pran Jaswal was born on April 23, 1993. He first gained national attention after performing surgery on the hands of an 8-year-old burn victim. He made headlines again at 12 as the “youngest university student” in the country. By the age of 13, with an impressive IQ of 146, Akrit became internationally recognized after appearing on Oprah Winfrey’s renowned talk show.


From a young age, Akrit Pran Jaswal was reportedly involved in research at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, focusing on cancer research. Recognized as a medical genius, he received support and guidance from the Chairman of Secondary Education in Dharamshala. Akrit enrolled at IIT Kanpur to study bioengineering and, at 12, began studying science at Chandigarh University. By the age of 17, he was pursuing a master’s degree in chemistry.
