We are talking about Anu Kumari, the women who cleared the Civil Services Exam in her second attempt in the year 2017.
Hailing from Sonipat, Anu completed her graduation in Physics from Delhi University. She completed her masters in Finance and Marketing from IMT, Nagpur. After a few years, Anu got married in the year 2012 and had to move to Gurugram.
“My job was good, but there was no internal satisfaction. It all became so mechanical that at one point I could not take it anymore,” she was quoted as saying by a report in The Hindustan Times.
Anu Kumari made the tough decision to be away from her son for almost two years to concentrate on her UPSC preparation. She had her first attempt of UPSC exam in which she could not get selected by 1 mark. Though the failure of her first attempt left her disappointed, she didn’t let the setback dissolve her determination and kept trying. Striving harder, she cracked the exam in her second try and proudly secured 2nd position nationwide. Indeed, in the year 2017, she got the post she always dreamed for.

A morning person by nature, Anu adjusts her daily routine around her usual waking and sleeping hours and ends up devoting around 10 to 12 hours each day immersed in her study materials.
Additionally, in her morning walks, Anu used to listen to All India Radio broadcasts, and during her meal times, she used to watch sessions of Rajya Sabha TV. Thus, she ensures she makes the most of every moment she has for learning.
