New Delhi: Nothing is impossible; the word itself says ‘I’m possible.’ This saying perfectly captures the journey of a Delhi University alumnus, who, after failing the prelims twice, went on to become the UPSC Civil Services(CSE) 2022 topper. 26-year-old Ishita Kishore successfully cleared the prestigious examination on her third attempt. Ishita Kishore graduated in economics from Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce. After finishing her studies, Ishita ventured into the professional world, joining Ernst & Young, where she contributed to their risk advisory department.
Kishore, who worked with multinational firm Ernst and Young, is the daughter of a late Air Force officer. Her mother used to teach at a private school and her elder brother is a lawyer. Hailing from Greater Noida, Ishita is an alumna of Air Force Bal Bharti School and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in Delhi. Kishore cleared the examination with Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject. Securing All India Rank 1, Ishita achieved a total of 1094 marks in the examination.
Speaking of her scores, she achieved a total of 901 marks in the written examination and 193 marks in the personality test. She had also been a national-level football player, having competed in the Subroto Cup in 2012. Ishita attempted the UPSC exam multiple times. After not clearing the prelims in her first two attempts, she succeeded on her third attempt, achieving All India Rank(AIR) 1. This was the first time she qualified for the interview round. She topped the exam with Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject.
