Amaravati: Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. When you set clear goals, develop a roadmap, and consistently work towards them, you create a strong foundation for achieving your aspirations. In this article, we will talk about the success story of 22-year-old Rishab Ostwal R from Chittoor, near Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, who topped the CA final November 2024 examination by securing…
Rishabh secured 508 marks out of 600, achieving an impressive 84.67%. He shares the top position, All India Rank 1, with Heramb Maheshwari from Hyderabad. In addition, he also secured the top 1 rank in both the CMA Foundation and Intermediate exams.
In an interview with indianexpress.com, the shared AIR 1 mentioned his aspiration to build a career in private equity or consulting—fields he has been passionate about since the start of his journey. While speaking to the Indian Express, Rishab stated, “My love for numbers and case studies has attracted me to pursue a career in private equity or consulting. Also, the growth prospects in such sectors are tremendous.”
Rishab’s journey to success is nothing short of remarkable. He cleared both groups of the CA final exams on his first attempt and secured AIR 8 in the CA Intermediate exam in 2021. Having taken the foundation exam in 2020, Rishabh started his CA preparation while he was still in Class 12.
Sharing a post on LinkedIn, Rishab wrote, “This post is purely intended to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have played a crucial role in helping me achieve AIR 1 in CA Final.
I could never have reached here without the support and encouragement of so many wonderful people.”
Appreciating his parents for their efforts and sacrifices, Rishab wrote, “First and foremost, my mom and dad. The love, faith, and sacrifices they have made for me are beyond words. My dad is my first and last superhero—my very own Aladdin ka Jinn. No matter what I ask, he makes it happen. Even during my late-night study sessions, he stayed awake just to ensure I was okay (and I still don’t know why!). Despite his own busy schedule, he never missed a beat. My mom, the cutest and most selfless person on this planet, has always been there to support me. Honestly, had I put even half the effort she puts into everything, I would have probably scored 700/600!
Rishab dedicated 12-14 hours a day to his CA final preparation in the final months leading up to the exams. Speaking of his preparation strategy, Rishab focused on practicing questions through mock tests and past papers, which played a crucial role in his success in the CA November 2024 final exams.
During his study leave, which lasted five to six months, Rishabh followed a strict routine, studying through the night and sleeping in the morning. He would wake up around 10 am and study for 10 hours, gradually increasing his study time to 12 hours a day in the final months. In the last 15 days before the exam, he pushed himself even further, dedicating up to 14 hours a day to his preparation.
The 22-year-old AIR 1 CA final topper completed his BCom from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh, in 2023. His father, a businessman, had full confidence that Rishabh would rank among the top scorers in the CA November 2024 exams. His sister, who works as a sales analyst, provided invaluable support throughout his journey. According to his LinkedIn profile, Rishab also scored 97.5% marks in the ICSE (Class 10th) board examination.
