The Fee Regulating Authority (FRA) in Mumbai has made the process of seeking fee hikes for colleges more stringent to prevent false claims. Private and unaided professional colleges will now have to submit Form 16 downloaded from the income tax portal to support their claims on staff salaries. The FRA has also increased the number of documents required for fee revision proposals.
