BSc Nursing admissions for 2023 in Kerala will be based on the previous year’s model, according to reports. The state government has not provided any reason for delaying the CET, but it has communicated to the Indian Nursing Council that it will be working towards implementing it from 2024 onwards. The council had already given Kerala a concession in 2022 with regard to the BSc common entrance test, so it is yet to be seen how they will respond to the latest development. The Indian Nursing Council had urged all states to conduct the common entrance test for BSc Nursing admissions on April 6, 2023. Several states, including Karnataka, have decided to follow the notification issued by the council and will conduct the CET. The Nursing Council has warned that if Kerala ignores its direction to hold an entrance test for BSc Nursing admissions, it may adversely affect the future of students joining the courses. The situation could lead to the cancellation of student registration and denial of job opportunities. Kerala’s decision not to conduct the common entrance test for BSc Nursing admissions has left many students and their parents in a difficult situation.
