Karnataka High Court stays arrest of former CM and BJP leader BS Yediyurappa in POCSO case

Karnataka High Court: S Krishna Dixit, J. stayed the arrest of former Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader BS Yediyurappa in connection with a case registered under the (‘POCSO Act’).

The Court directed him to appear before the police for the purpose of investigation on 17-06-2024.

On 13-06-2024, Bengaluru Court issued an arrest warrant against BS Yediyurappa in connection with the said case.

The Crime Investigation Department filed an application before the Court and are investigating the case registered under Section of the read with Section of the .

It was alleged that a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at Yediyurappa’s residence in Bengaluru.

Yediyurappa had approached the Karnataka High Court, seeking cancellation of the POCSO case. The same is pending before the High Court.
