Karnataka High Court: In a significant decision, the Court on 10-04-2024 quashed the circular issued by the Central Government banning import, breeding and sale of certain breeds of dogs deemed “dangerous” by the Animal Husbandry Ministry.
The Court was of the opinion that appropriate consultations should have been done with concerned parties such as pet owners and relevant organisations before issuing the impugned circular in March 2024.
