The Congress-led government in Karnataka plans to overhaul textbooks for classes 1 to 10 in the upcoming academic year. A committee of 37 members, including education experts, has been established to revise the curriculum. The committee will focus on the revision of Kannada language textbooks, social science textbooks, and third language Kannada textbooks. The committee has three months to complete the revision process, and members will receive monthly honorariums. Earlier changes to the syllabi included replacing certain texts with new ones, such as those related to RSS founder K.B. Hedgewar and Hindutva ideologue V.D. Savarkar.
