It is necessary for all the candidates to fulfil the complete eligibility criteria before applying. Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam (JNUEE) has been scrapped previously. So, now JNU is offering admission through scores of CUET exam which is conducted by NTA.

JNU Eligibility Criteria 2025​


The University offers different courses in the fields of arts, science, computer application, etc. Each course will have different eligibility criteria. In this table, we have updated the complete eligibility criteria to apply for JNUEE.

Candidates have to fulfil the given JNU Admission eligibility criteria to fill & appear in the examination.

CoursesEligibility Criteria
BA (Hons.) (1st Year)
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: Obtain a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying exam.
BA (Hons.) (2nd Year) in German
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass 1st year of Bachelor Degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Secure at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.
BA (Hons.) (2nd Year) other than German
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Secure a minimum of 45% marks in above exam.
MA in Politics/English/ Linguistics/ German/ Arts & Aesthetics
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass Bachelor Degree from any recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam.
MA in Geography/Sociology/Sanskrit
  • Qualifying Exam: Should Pass Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Score at least 45% marks in the above exam.
MA in Economics
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass Bachelor Degree (with 50% marks in aggregate) in following subjects:
    Economics (Hons.) with Mathematics as subsidiary subject or Mathematics(Hons.) with Economics as a subsidiary subject or Statistics(Hons.) with Mathematics and Economics as a subsidiary subject.
    OR
    Pass any other bachelor’s degree in Economics & Mathematics & secure 60% marks.
MA in Political Sciences/Philosophy
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50 % marks in Social sciences.
    OR
    Pass Bachelor’s Degree with at least 55% marks in science and technology stream.
M.Sc
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass a Bachelor’s degree (B.SC or B.Tech or equivalent) from any recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Obtain at least 55% marks in the qualifying exam.
MCA
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Secure a minimum of 55% marks in the above qualifying examination.
M.Tech/Ph.D
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics Statistics or Operational Research or in any branch of Science or Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering or MCA.
  • Minimum Marks: Secure a minimum of 55% marks.
Ph.D. (Direct Admission)
  • Qualifying Exam: Pass a 2-year M.Phil degree or Pass a 1-year M.Phil degree with one-year research experience.
    OR
    Pass Master’s degree/BE/B. Tech & have at least 2 years of research experience.
  • Minimum Marks: Score a minimum of 55% marks in the examination.
M.Phil/ Ph.D & Ph.D (Through JRF)
  • Pass M.Sc in a relevant subject.
  • Candidates who have qualified for the examination for a fellowship through a national-level written test, i.e. JRF category under CSIR/UGC National Eligibility Test (NET)-JRF, DBT-JRF (Category-I), ICMR-JRF, INSPIRE Fellowship, Ayush Fellowship, Bioinformatic National Certification (BINC) examination (conducted by DBT) or any other fellowship awarded from Government of India.

CUET 2025 Eligibility​


Candidates must go through following eligibility criteria before applying for CUET 2025:

  • Nationality: Indian national citizens will be eligible to apply.
  • Qualification (UG): Applying candidates must have qualified 12th level exam from any recognised board or university.
  • Qualification (PG): Candidates must have passed a Bachelor’s degree from any recognised board or university.
  • Percentage (PG): Candidates must have qualified with a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation to be eligible for PG admissions in JNU.
  • National Level Scores: For MBA course, CAT scores are mandatory. Likewise for M.Sc. in Biotechnology and M.Sc. in Computational Biology Programme will be through GAT-B score.
  • Age Limit: There will be no age limit to apply for CUET 2025.
JNU 2025 Eligibility Criteria must be checked by the students to know whether they will be able to apply for UG/ PG admissions or not. Complete course-wise eligibility of the qualifying exam and minimum marks will be provided by us according to the latest information.
