The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations has begun the application process of the Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test, JKCET 2023.

This application process is for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in government, private colleges of Jammu and Kashmir for the academic session 2023.

Students who are seeking admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programme in the government and private colleges of Jammu and Kashmir can register for the JKCET 2023.

JKCET Exam is conducted for admissions into B.E. and B.Tech Courses in Government, Private Colleges, and Institutions in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test, JKCET Application Window has now opened on the official site. J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination has opened this window for candidates to edit or upload their class 12 marks. Candidates appearing for this exam can do so by going to jkbopee.gov.in.

JKCET online Application Window for Editing, Uploading documents will be open till August 19. Candidates will not be able to modify their applications after that. Along with this, JKBOPEE has also released a set of instructions for editing and uploading documents on the website.

Students will have to fill in their total marks and even marks obtained in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. They may also go through the steps given here to know how to edit or upload their class 12 marks.

How to Edit, Upload Class 12 marks​

  1. Go to the official site- .
  2. Click on the tab ‘Online Applications’ given on homepage.
  3. Now click on link that reads ‘CET Engineering Editing Form’.
  4. Enter your details as asked like Application Id and Date of Birth.
  5. Click on submit.
  6. After this, an OTP would come on your registered mobile number or email address.
  7. Enter the OTP and click on the Verify.
  8. Click on the option that reads ‘Edit Form’ and start entering your marks.
  9. Click on ‘Upload Document’ and upload your class 12 marks and then click on submit.
  10. Your JKCET application form has been modified. Download and take a print of the same for future references.

As per the instructions released by JKBOPEE for JKCET, candidates must note that no new applications will be accepted now. They must also upload and edit their class 12 marks on time as those who fail to do so till August 19, their applications would be automatically cancelled.

JKCET Registration 2023​


Interested candidates can visit the official site, jkbopee.gov.in, and the last date for JKCET Registration 2023 is April 24. Candidates must fill the online applications, duly affixing the latest color photograph, thumb impression and signature. Students must go through the JKCET notification thoroughly before applying for the exam online.

Once the JKCET Registration 2023 is completed, the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations will announce the exam dates. Students must go through the steps mentioned below to complete the JKCET Registration process.

Students applying for JKCET ((CET Engineering) must be a Domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladak, must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination and must be at least 17 years old on 31 December 2022.

Through this JKCET exam, students are offered admission to various Bachelor of engineering and technology courses in government and private colleges across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

JKCET Exam Details​


CET shall consist of a single paper with three sections comprising physics, chemistry and mathematics with 180 questions (60 questions from each section) with a time duration of three hours.

The questions shall be multiple choice objective types with one mark each. There will be 0.25 negative marks for each wrong answer. The medium of the test will be English only. The question paper shall be objective type containing multiple-choice questions.

A candidate having scored less than 10 marks in the Entrance Test or as may be benchmark fixed by the Board will not be considered for admission.

The entrance exam will be held at the centres as may be specified by the Board in the cities of Srinagar and Jammu only. The Test Centre once allotted will not be changed under any circumstances.

JKCET will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Students will be provided with an OMR sheet to mark their responses. JKCET will be comprised of three sections – physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Each section will have 60 multiple choice type questions of one mark each and the total marks will be 180. The examinees will be given three hours to solve the exam.

JKCET Exam Fee: Those who want to register can follow these steps. The JKCET application fee is Rs 1200. Candidates can pay the application fee using net banking, credit card, or debit card. Candidates applying for JKCET examination will be required to submit an application fee of Rs.1200.

JKCET Eligibility Criteria​


Domicile: To apply for the test the candidates have a domicile certificate of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh, however, in respect of candidates of UT of Ladakh, an ST certificate issued by the Competent Authority of Ladakh shall be treated as a domicile certificate.

Education: Further, the candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised statutory board with physics, chemistry, and mathematics as compulsory subjects and with at least 45 per cent marks.

Further, 40 per cent passing marks is required for the candidates who are from the Open Merit Category including the children of defense personnel, children of paramilitary force, children of J&K police personnel and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in sports, and candidates belonging to SC/ST and other socially and educationally backward classes.
