[Jiah Khan Suicide Case]: CBI Court acquits Sooraj Pancholi in abetment of suicide case

CBI Court Mumbai: The CBI Court acquitted Sooraj Pancholi (‘accused’) of charges abetting the suicide of late actor Jiah Khan in June 2013. The Court cleared Pancholi of charges under Section of (‘IPC’), citing ‘paucity of evidence’.

Facts: Sooraj Pancholi, son of actor Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, who rose to fame with his debut film ‘Hero’, was arrested in 2013, for abetting the suicide of late actor ‘Jiah Khan’. He was later released on bail by Bombay High Court. Thereafter, based on a petition filed by the late actor’s mother, Rabia Khan, the High Court transferred the case to CBI for detailed investigation of the matter.
