The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) is conducted in two sessions, Session 1 and Session 2, for admissions in the next academic session. JEE (Main) Session 1 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) is generally held in January-February, and Session 2 is held in April. This is done to ensure that the JEE (Main) does not interfere with the Board examinations, which may be held at different times across the States/UTs. The JEE (Main) is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, other CFTIs, and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State governments.
