The official notification/ information brochure for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 has been released at the official website jeeadv.ac.in.

JEE Advanced news: As per the latest updates on the official website, revised dates would be released soon by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

The registration, admission, counselling and other important dates are likely to get revised too. Information Brochure and the list of required documents during the registration process are now available on the website, jeeadv.ac.in.

The exam is scheduled to be conducted in computer-based test mode. Through JEE Advanced, admission will be provided into undergraduate courses, which will help in obtaining a bachelor’s, integrated masters or bachelor-master dual degree in engineering, sciences or architecture. The exam will be conducted by the seven zonal coordinating IITs.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024. This year, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) under the guidance of JAB, will conduct the exam.

Since last year, the exam is held in computer-based mode. Aspirants can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. The registration process begins usually in May, after the declaration of JEE Main result.

JEE Advanced is the gateway to securing admission to any one of the 23 IITs. To appear for this test, an aspirant has to first qualify JEE Main Exam and figure in the top two lakh candidates.

Those who qualify JEE Advanced, but do not find a seat in the engineering branch of their choice at an IIT, usually opt for National Institutes of Technology (NITs), which admit students based on all-India ranks of JEE Main.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras, IIT-M has issued a JEE Advanced Information Brochure or JEE Advanced information booklet for the Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced 2024.

Apart from IITs, JEE Advanced score is also used Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Rae Bareli, Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy, Visakhapatnam among others.

Students who had cleared JEE Main 2024 and were eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, however, could not appear or the IIT entrance will also be allowed to appear for the entrance exam this year.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 for admission to undergraduate, integrated master’s or bachelor-master dual degree programme in engineering science and architecture will be conducted as per the schedule, according to information released by exam convener.

Registration for JEE Advanced will begin very soon through the official JEE website, . The date of the exam will be 03-10-2021, with paper one held from 9 am to 12 noon and paper two from 2 pm to 5 pm.

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria​


Educational qualification: Aspirants should have passed class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025. They should be among the top 2,24,000 (including all categories) in paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2024.

Age limit: Aspirants should have been born on or after October 1. Relaxation in age will be given as per the norms.

1.Top ranks: Candidates should be among the top 2,24,000 (including all categories) in Paper-1 of JEE Main 2024. Candidates to be shortlisted are: 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST. About 50.5% is open for all candidates. Within each of these four categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.

2. Age limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995. SC, ST and PwD candidates get five-year relaxation so they should be born on or after October 1, 1990.

3. Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

4. Clear Class 12 or equivalent exam: A candidate should have appeared for the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2024.

If the Class 12 (or equivalent) results for this academic year have been released after June then the candidates of that board who appeared for the Class 12 exam in will also be eligible for JEE Advanced, provided they meet other eligibility criteria.

In case the Class 12 examination (or equivalent) results were declared for the academic year before June but the result of a particular candidate was withheld, then the candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.

5. Not admitted to IITs earlier: Candidates should not have been admitted to an IIT, irrespective of whether or not they continued studies at the IIT or accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past.

Candidates whose admission at IITs was cancelled after they joined at IIT are also not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.

Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024. The candidates who paid seat acceptance fee but (i) did not report at any reporting centre or,

(ii) withdrew before the last round of seat allotment, or (iii) had their seat cancelled (for whatever reason) before the last round of seat allotment for IITs, during the joint seat allocation, are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024.

However, in any of the above cases, the candidate is required to fulfil the conditions mentioned from Criterion 1 to Criterion 4.

Exam pattern and schedule: There will be two compulsory papers (paper 1 and paper 2) of 3 hours duration each. Paper I: 9 am to 12 pm And Paper II: 2 pm to 5 pm.

Total attempts: Aspirants can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. The candidate’s name, JEE Advanced 2024 roll number, photo, signature, date of birth, residence, and exam site will all be listed on the admission card.

How to apply for JEE Advanced?​


The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has declared the examination date of the JEE Advanced. A notification was released on the official website, where the Institute released the JEE Advanced date. The entire JEE (Advanced) 2024 Examination will be conducted in fully computer based test mode.

What is JEE Advanced Exam?​
