1 President approves 76 gallantry awards including four Kirti Chakras and 11 Shaurya Chakras to personnel of Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces​

President Draupadi Murmu has approved the conferment of 76 Gallantry Awards to the personnel of Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces on the eve of Independence Day . There are four Kirti Chakras in these , all of which will be given posthumously. 11 Shaurya Chakras , out of which 5 will be given posthumously. In addition, 52 Sena Medals for Gallantry , 3 Navy Medals for Gallantry and 4 Vayu Sena Medals for Gallantry Are included. The President has also approved thirty Mention-in-Despatches to the Army, including one Air Force personnel for making significant contributions in various military operations. Along with this, an army dog Madhu will be given this honor posthumously. The President has also approved the award of one Tatrakshak Medal and five Tatrakshak Medals to the personnel of the Indian Coast Guard.

2 On the occasion of Independence Day, a total of 53 personnel were announced to be given Fire Service Medals.​

On the occasion of Independence Day, a total of 53 personnel have been announced to be given Fire Service Medals. Of these, three personnel have been selected for the President’s Fire Service Medal and one personnel for the Fire Service Medal for indomitable courage and gallantry. Personnel of the Fire Service, Civil Defence, and Home Guards are awarded for gallantry on Republic Day and Independence Day every year. The President’s Medal for Gallantry and the Utkrisht Seva Medal are awarded along with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Services. President’s Fire Service Medal for distinguished service to eight personnel and Utkrisht Seva Medal to 41 personnel are being awarded. Home Guard and Civil Defense medals will also be awarded to 48 personnel and volunteers.

3 First Global Summit on Traditional Medicine to be held in Gandhinagar from August 17​

Its goal is to ensure health and well-being for all. In the year 2022, WHO established the Global Center for Traditional Medicine in collaboration with the Government of India.

Recently, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy shared important information about India’s wind energy potential . This information highlights the country’s commitment to sustainable energy practices and highlights the top states with the highest wind energy potential. Additionally, the ministry outlined innovative strategies aimed at increasing the use of wind energy and ensuring environment-friendly practices in this sector. With an installed wind power capacity of 42.8 GW (onshore wind) by April 2023, India ranks fourth globally after China, the United States and Germany. Wind resource assessment carried out by the National Institute of Wind Energy reveals an estimated wind power potential of about 695.5 GW and 1,164 GW, respectively, at 120 m and 150 m above sea level across the country.
