Niti Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam announced that India aims to enroll half a million foreign students by 2047. He emphasized the need for universities in India to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving higher education sector. Subrahmanyam also highlighted the importance of improving the quality and brand value of Indian education to attract more international students. He urged the private sector to expand the higher education ecosystem and revamp the educational system to make students industry-ready. Furthermore, he emphasized that Indian universities have 25 years to leverage the country's demographic dividend.
