Bangalore : International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) is collaborating with EnAble India to provide scholarships for persons with disabilities who get selected in its newly launched Post Graduate Programme in Digital Product Design and Management (PGP-DPDM).
EnAble India, a highly-regarded organization dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities, has established these scholarships to cover the tuition fees of up to five persons with disabilities who are admitted to PGP-DPDM in 2024.
Speaking on the collaboration with IIIT-Bangalore, Dipesh Sutariya, CMD & co-founder of EnAble India, remarked, “Incorporating persons with disabilities in product design ensures that accessibility is part of the infrastructure rather than an afterthought. Congratulations to IIIT-Bangalore for taking a significant step towards inclusivity by launching the PGP-DPDM program. On starting this new programme, Prof. Debabrata Das, Director, IIIT-Bangalore, said that, “We are excited to introduce the PGP-DPDM programme, building upon IIIT-Bangalore’s legacy of delivering interdisciplinary excellence and emphasis on inclusivity. This initiative aims to nurture a profound understanding of the evolving landscape of digital technologies and their impact on society.”
Prof. Amit Prakash, who is currently coordinating PGD-DPDM at IIIT-Bangalore, stated, “PGP-DPDM warmly welcomes individuals of all abilities, including those with disabilities such as vision and hearing impairments. We believe in encouraging an inclusive learning environment where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute their unique perspectives to our diverse community. We believe this programme will empower the next generation of innovators and leaders in digital product design and management.”
The PGP-DPDM programme at IIIT-B is designed to equip students with comprehensive skills in digital product design and management, blending engineering and social sciences disciplines. Through this programme, students will gain expertise in areas such as data analysis, user research, product management and innovation, preparing them for diverse roles in the digital product ecosystem.
