ICFAI Business School organizes 10th “IBS Conference on Marketing and Business Strategy” (ICOMBS-2024)

The Department of Marketing & Strategy of ICFAI Business School (IBS) Hyderabad organized the 10th IBS Conference on Marketing & Business Strategy (ICOMBS 2024) on 15 and 16th March 2024 at its campus on the theme “Technology & Sustainability Redefining the Future of Marketing”.

The objective of the conference: The objective of the conference was to provide a platform where both industry executives as well as researchers deliberate on wide range of contemporary issues related to technology and sustainability and how they are going to shape the way marketing will be conducted in the future.

The Chief Guest Prof. Rakesh Mohan Joshi, Director, Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bangalore, in his speech provided a unique perspective on the meaning of sustainability. He was very happy and optimistic about how India was truly sustainable. In several aspects related to politics, economy, and people management.

His unique perspective was that of looking at sustainability not only as ecological, or ecofriendly concept but his distinct viewpoint transcended the conventional understanding of sustainability solely as an ecological or eco-friendly concept, embracing it instead as a comprehensive and holistic principle. He praised the government and the people for making India truly sustainable.

Keynote speaker, Mr. Prashant Tiwari, Chief Sustainability Officer, Amara Raja Group, in his speech warned the audience present that “India is among the most vulnerable country in the world when it comes to climate change”. He went on to say that today the differentiator B2B marketing today has become factors like “Are you net zero?”

Another Guest Speaker, Mr. Srinivasa Rao V, Director, NCD, Spoke about NCD’s approach towards sustainable living and quipped that “technology should be affordable and should be understood by the common man”.
