School Holidays: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state, all schools and colleges in the Bhubaneswar metropolitan area will have a complete holiday on September 17, 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch the Subhadra Yojana in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, September 17. During his visit, the prime minister would launch ‘Subhadra’ yojana, a women-centric scheme of the state government.
Consequently, there will be a large public meeting in Bhubaneswar. Therefore, the state government has decided that all the schools and colleges of Bhubaneswar will be completely closed on that day. Meanwhile, the government offices will be closed for the first half of the day, according to the Odisha CMO
The government, in an order, placed at least 50 Odisha administrative service officers under the disposal of the women and child development department and assigned them the responsibility of crowd management during the PM’s programme at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on September 17. “The services of the senior OAS officers are placed under the disposal of the W&CD department to be entrusted for crowd management etc. during the visit of the prime minister to Odisha on September 17 for mega launching of ‘Subhadra’ yojana at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar,” said the order issued by General Administration and Public Grievance department, PTI reported.
As per the press release, PM Modi will launch ‘SUBHADRA’, the flagship Scheme of the Government of Odisha, in Bhubaneswar. It is the largest, single women-centric scheme and is expected to cover more than 1 crore women. Under the scheme, all eligible beneficiaries between the age of 21-60 years would receive Rs. 50,000/- over a period of 5 years between 2024-25 to 2028-29. An amount of Rs 10,000/- per annum in two equal instalments will be credited directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank account. On this historic occasion, Prime Minister would initiate the fund transfer into the bank accounts of more than 10 lakh women.
Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation Railway Projects worth more than Rs. 2800 crores in Bhubaneswar. These Railway projects will enhance Railway infrastructure in Odisha and improve growth and connectivity in the region. He will also lay the foundation stone of National Highway Projects worth more than Rs. 1000 crores.
