1. Indian Space Research Organization successfully completed the mission of self-landing reusable launch vehicle

Indian Space Research Organisation- ISRO has successfully completed the Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing Mission (RLV LEX) mission of reusable launch or automatic landing . The launch vehicle RLV LEX was successfully tested at the test range at Chitradurga in Karnataka . Air Force Chinook helicopter during test took the launch vehicle to an altitude of four and a half kilometers and released it. From there, the launch vehicle made an automatic landing on the airstrip at a speed of 350 km per hour. During this he met all the ten criteria. With this successful test, India has come closer to making a reusable launch vehicle. ISRO chairman S. Somnath has congratulated the scientists associated with the test.

2. Sudesh Dhankhar got PhD degree, did commendable work on sustainable development and ground water conservation

Sudesh Dhankhar , wife of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, has been awarded PhD in Economics for her work on sustainable development and groundwater conservation in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan . The title was conferred on Mrs. Dhankhar at a convocation ceremony at Banasthali Vidyapeeth in Tonk district . Mrs. Dhankhar was conferred this title by the Governor of Rajasthan , Kalraj Mishra . Mrs. Dhankhar, a native of Rajasthan, has been active in the field of water conservation apart from social issues like women empowerment.

3. Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh, AVSM, NM takes over as Vice Chief of the Naval Staff

Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh , AVSM, NM assumed charge as the Vice Chief of the Naval Staff on 01 April 2023. Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh, after taking over, paid homage to the gallant soldiers at the National War Memorial in New Delhi on 02 Apr 23 and reviewed the Guard of Honor at South Block. Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh is a graduate of the National Defense Academy, Pune and was commissioned into the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy in 1986.

4. Using English words in official work in Italy can lead to a fine of up to one lakh pounds

Using English or other foreign words in official work could lead to fines of up to a million pounds , according to a new draft law introduced in Italy . This draft has been introduced in the House by Fabio Rampelli, which has been supported by the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni . The draft calls for fines for all foreign languages, but specifically targets English. The draft states that the use of the Italian language is declining due to English and that since the UK itself is no longer part of the European Union, there is no justification for the use of English.

6. Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra tea gets European GI tag

The European Union (EU) has granted Geographical Indication (GI) tag to Kangra tea . This will help the tea growers of Kangra to export their produce to Europe. Kangra tea has a rich history that was first introduced in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh in the mid-19th century. British formal officials were interested in developing tea plantations in India and in 1852 Dr. Jameson, a British civil surgeon, planted tea seeds in the Kangra Valley.

7. The revenue from GST in March 2023 was Rs 1.6 lakh crore

The revenue received from Goods and Services Tax in March 2023 was Rs 1.6 lakh crore, which is 13 percent more than the same period last year. According to a Finance Ministry statement, since the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax, the tax collection has crossed Rs 1.5 lakh crore for the fourth time in the current financial year. The total tax collection for the year 2022-23 stood at Rs 18.10 lakh crore, which was 22 per cent higher than the previous year.

8. 2nd Energy Transition Working Group meeting begins in Gandhinagar, Gujarat

Under India’s chairmanship of the G-20 , the second meeting of the Energy Transformation Working Group has begun in Gandhinagar in Gujarat . More than 100 delegates from G-20 countries, special invitees and international organizations are participating in the meeting. In the meeting, there will be in-depth discussions on priority areas of energy. The first meeting of the working group was held in Bengaluru in February this year, in which six priority areas were identified by the member countries. These include addressing technology gaps, availability of low-cost finance for energy transfer, energy security and promoting energy transformation through a diversified supply-chain.

9. Finland becomes 31st NATO member after Turkey’s approval

10. Haryana first state in India with 100% electrified railway network

In March 2023, the Indian Railways completely electrified the railway network of the state of Haryana , making it the first state in the country. has achieved 100% electrification of its railway network. Railways has completed 100% electrification of 1,701 km of existing broad gauge rail network in Haryana. Broad gauge routes of seven Zonal Railways in India have achieved the target of 100% electrification. These railways are East Coast Railway (ECoR), North Central Railway (NCR), North Eastern Railway (NER), Eastern Railway (ER), South Eastern Railway (SER), West Central Railway (WCR) and Central Railway. (CR). This achievement is an important step to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote the developing transport in the country. Indian Railways has set a target that it will achieve 100% electrification of its broad gauge routes by December 2023, and these seven Zonal Railways This milestone achieved by the Institute is an important step towards achieving this goal.

11. Space System Design Lab inaugurated in Ahmedabad

13. World Bank approves US $ 363 million to Karnataka for rural water supply program

The World Bank ‘s Board of Executive Directors approved a $363 million loan to provide two million rural households in the southern Indian state of Karnataka with clean drinking water supplies through water connections to their homes . A World Bank statement said that about 77 per cent of Karnataka’s area is arid or semi-arid and remains vulnerable to drought and floods due to climate-change-induced changes in rainfall patterns. There is scarcity of ground water in this area and the quality of water is also continuously deteriorating.

14. Tata Power approves reappointment of Praveer Sinha as CEO & MD

Former BJP state president Satish Punia has been made deputy leader of the opposition in the assembly. Mr. Rathod was unanimously elected Leader of the Opposition in the presence of BJP State President CP Joshi, in-charge Arun Singh and other senior leaders. Till now he was holding the post of deputy leader in the state assembly.

17. A book titled “War and Women” authored by Dr MA Hassan was released

Dr. M A Hassan ‘s book, “ War and Women ” was launched during the 52nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva, Switzerland. The event was organized by the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Parliament in Europe. The book was released at the Serpentine Cafeteria inside the United Nations Building. The book throws light on the suffering of Bengali women who were victims of sexual violence during the 1971 war.

21. Runner Lashinda Demus awarded Olympic gold medal after a decade

More than a decade after the 2012 London Games , Lashinda Demus, a sprinter from the United States, has been awarded an Olympic gold medal at the age of 40, and Zuzana Hejnova of Czechia and Kalisz Spencer of Jamaica a silver medal. Was awarded the Bronze Medal. The International Olympic Committee stripped Natalya Antyukh, the original gold medalist in the 400 meters hurdles, of her title due to her involvement in the Russian doping scandal. Antyukh beat Demus by just 0.07 seconds at the London track. Historical evidence recovered from the Moscow testing laboratory database allowed the Athletics Integrity Unit to disqualify Antyukh’s results from July 2012 to June 2013.

22. Novelist and short story writer Sarah Thomas dies

Noted author Sarah Thomas passed away at her residence due to age-related ailments. She was 89 years old. He wrote 17 novels and over 100 short stories . His first novel, “ Jeevitham Enna Nathilaunched his writing career. One of his notable works, “Muripadukal” was adapted into a film titled “Manimuzhakam” by director PA Bakkar. Thomas was awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award twice. He was first awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1979 for his novel ‘Narmadi Pudva’. For the second time, in 2010, he was awarded the Academy Award for his contribution to Malayalam literature. Feature films have also been made in Malayalam on four of Thomas’s books. His second novel ‘Muripadukal’ was made into a film named ‘Manimuzhakkam’, which won several national and state awards.

23. Former Indian cricketer Salim Durrani passed away in Jamnagar, Gujarat

Former Indian cricketer Salim Aziz Durrani passed away in Jamnagar, Gujarat . He was 88 years old and was ill for a few days. Mr. Durrani scored 1,202 runs in 29 Tests for India at an average of 25.004 and took 75 wickets. Mr. Durrani took 23 wickets in India’s spectacular victory against England in 1961-62 . Mr. Durrani also acted in the 1969 Hindi film Ek Masoom and the 1973 film Charitra .
