Gujarat's technical fee regulatory committee has introduced an ad hoc fee structure for 101 private engineering colleges, accommodating their demand for over 5% fee hikes for the upcoming 2023-24 academic year. The committee is working on regularizing fee structures for a three-year cycle, but the admissions process is already underway. An additional 17 newly established engineering colleges also received fee structures. Delays in finalizing new fee arrangements stem from incomplete financial reports submitted by some colleges.
