Two engineering students, Arya Chaumal and Tanmay Patil, from the College of Engineering Pune Technological University have been selected for Google Summer of Code 2023. This annual program awards a stipend to contributors who successfully complete a Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) coding project during the summer. Chaumal and Patil will work on the HPX threading system for LLVM OpenMP with Stellar Group and add acrostic puzzles to GNOME Crosswords with GNOME, respectively. The college officials attributed the students' selection to the Association of Students of Computer and IT's efforts in educating the students on the GSoC process.
