The Union Cabinet has approved a Rs 1 lakh crore scheme to increase the grain storage capacity in the cooperative sector . 3 Government launches electronics repair service outsourcing
The government launched a pilot project on outsourcing electronics repair services . The project is jointly developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology , Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and other important stakeholders. This project will help in making the country the world’s most important information technology support center. Electronics repair service outsourcing industry to generate USD 20 billion revenue for India in next 5 years likely to meet. This will also create lakhs of employment opportunities. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said that the project has been identified as a game changer for India and has been supported by the government to make India a world leader in a new sector. This three-month pilot project is being started in Bengaluru. Five companies namely Flex, Lenovo, CTDI, R-Logic and EforReserve have agreed to support the pilot project.

Concept of Cities 2.0 programme; French Development Agency (AFD) , Creditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) , European Union (EU) and National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Done in partnership with. The program will continue for a period of four years, i.e. from 2023 to 2027. The program includes integrated waste management at the city level; It is envisaged to support competitively selected projects to promote the circular economy with a special focus on climate-oriented reform actions at the state level and institutional strengthening and knowledge dissemination at the national level. Cities 2.0 funding will include a loan of Rs 1760 crore (EUR 200 million) from AFD and KfW (EUR 100 million each) and a technical assistance grant of Rs 106 crore (EUR 12 million) from the EU. 17 RBI fine against Central Bank of India
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a penalty of Rs 84.50 lakh on the Central Bank of India for failure to comply with certain provisions relating to fraud classification and reporting. The penalty was imposed after a statutory inspection revealed that the bank had reported the fraudulent accounts within a specified time limit. Additionally, the bank had also charged customers a flat SMS alert fee instead of charging them on actual usage.
18 Government approves digital communication framework between banks and CEIB
The government has approved a new digital reporting and communication system to address loan defaults above Rs 50 crore . Instead of relying on paper-based communication, the central government has introduced a digital mechanism. Under this system, the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau (CEIB) will send digital reports to public sector banks within 15 days of the loan request at the pre-approval stage . These reports will provide information on borrowers with loans of Rs 50 crore or more and their default status. At present, it is mandatory for state-owned banks to obtain a report from the CEIB regarding loan applicants with an amount above Rs 50 crore and any outstanding defaults.

20 Sanskrit scholar Ved Kumari Ghai passed away
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of veteran Sanskrit scholar and Padma Shri awardee Ved Kumari Ghai and said that her immense contribution has enriched the country’s cultural heritage. Born in Jammu on December 16, 1931, Ved Kumari Ghai was a Sanskrit scholar and Padma Shri awardee. Ghai died at the age of 92 in Jammu. She was unwell for some time. Ghai, associated with the education sector since 1953, has been the Dean and Head of the Department of Sanskrit in the University of Jammu.
