The Gauhati High Court issued notice on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) praying for striking down or abolishing the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities [Prevention] Act, 2014.

The PIL has been filed by one Payi Gyadi.

In the petition under Article under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has prayed for striking down or abolishing the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities [Prevention] Act, 2014 on the ground of being unconstitutional, void and ultra vires.

Having heard the submissions of the counsel of both the parties, the Division Bench of Justice Robin Phukan and Justice Kardak Ete issued notice to the respondents .

Matter will be listed next after four weeks.
