Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) has been awarded funding by Harlow Council, Epping Forest District Council and Uttlesford District Council to deliver fully funded leadership and management training for charities across West Essex.

The funding has been provided by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and will enable ARU to develop and deliver a range of training events designed to meet the needs of local charities, community organisations, and social enterprises.

The training will focus on key areas such as governance, fundraising, marketing, and digital skills.

The project will run from May 2024 until January 2025 and is expected to benefit a wide range of third sector organisations from small groups run by volunteers to larger charities. Training will take place at masterclass sessions and via online webinars.

, who leads the unit at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), said:

“We are delighted to receive this funding and to be able to play a key role in supporting the important work of the third sector in these areas.

“By equipping staff and volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge, this fully funded training will help them to operate more effectively and deliver a greater impact in their local areas.

“Charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations provide amazing support to communities across West Essex and we are excited to be working with them.”
