It is supported by countries, United Nations agencies, multilateral development banks, It is an international alliance of the private sector and educational institutions. It aims to promote disaster-resilient infrastructure. On August 28, 2019, the Cabinet had approved the setting up of the CDRI with its secretariat in New Delhi and an endowment of Rs 480 crore.

7. World Bank said – Inflation in India will further come down to five point two percent during the current financial year

The World Bank has said that inflation will come down to 5.2 percent during the financial year 2023-24 . In the previous financial year it was 6.6 per cent. The World Bank has also predicted in one of its reports that the country’s current account deficit will come down to 2.1 per cent of GDP in the current financial year from the three per cent estimated for the previous financial year. Notably, the Reserve Bank of India RBI has increased the interest rate by 250 basis points from May 2022 till date as part of the measures to reduce inflation. However, the World Bank report also states that higher interest rates will lead to higher credit costs and lower domestic consumer consumption, which in turn may result in lower GDP growth. The World Bank has revised the GDP growth rate for the financial year 2023-34 to 6.3 percent, which is close to the latest forecast of the Reserve Bank of India at 6.4 percent. In view of the challenges arising out of global and domestic factors, the Asian Development Bank has also projected India’s GDP growth rate to be 6.4 per cent during this period.

8. Fernarium set up in Eravikulam National Park

Eravikulam National Park is located in the Kannan Devan Hills of the Southern Western Ghats. This park is also a natural habitat of the goat named Nilgiri tahr in Munnar. 9. Air forces of India and US to conduct joint exercise ‘Cope India’

Lord Mahavir was born on the 13th day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. As per the Gregorian calendar, it is usually celebrated in the month of March or April. On Mahavir Jayanti, the idol of Lord Mahavira is taken out in a procession called Rath Yatra and the idol is given a ceremonial bath called Abhishek. Devotees recite Jain prayers or hymns in praise of the Lord. Mahavira’s teachings revolved around the principles of non-violence, truth, celibacy and non-violence. He emphasized the importance of non-violence, truth, asteya, chastity and non-attachment, which were later compiled in the Jain Agamas. His teachings were simple and easy to understand as the medium of instruction was in Prakrit language; A language that common people could understand. Lord Mahavira is believed to have died at the age of 72 and attained moksha or liberation from the cycle of birth and death at Pawapuri near modern Rajgir in Bihar.
