The UP Board of Madarsa Education Act, 2004 aimed to regulate Madarsa education but was found unconstitutional by the Allahabad High Court. The court ruled that it violated secular principles and failed to provide compulsory education up to age 14, as mandated by Article 21-A, and universal quality education for Madarsa students.
