In response to a heat wave alert and scorching weather in Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan chaired a meeting where it was decided to close all educational institutions in the state until May 6. The alert particularly targets Palakkad, Kozhikode, Trissur, and Alappuzha districts. The meeting instructed that there should be no classes between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and prohibited parade or open activities by the Police, Fire Force, or NCC cadets during this time.
