Dr YSRHU AP HORTICET Details

Eligibility – Qualification: Candidates should pass in Diploma in Horticulture course from Dr YSRHU / ANGRAU. (Those who will be completing in this academic year can also apply through their Principal / Vice-Principals of Horticultural Polytechnics under Dr YSRHU. But submission of Final Memorandum of Marks-cum-Pass Certificate of Diploma in Horticulture is must at the time of admission counselling.

Age limit: The candidates should complete 17 years of age as on 31st December and should not be more than 22 years for all candidates but relaxed to 25 years in respect of S.C. & S.T. candidates and 27 years in respect of Physically Challenged (disabled) candidates.

Total No. of B.Sc (Hons.) Horticulture seats allotted to diploma holders: Total No. of seats allotted to diploma holders is 15% of seats of B.Sc (Hons.) Horticulture : i.e., 83 seats {47 (Govt. College seats) + 36 (Pvt. College Seats)}.

Reservations: 1) As per rules of Government of Andhra Pradesh. 2) The above seats will be allocated in the ratio of 85% for local candidates and the remaining 15% seats will be treated as an unreserved quota.

Syllabus: Syllabus covered in Two Year Diploma in Horticulture Course. And Selection Process: Admissions will be made strictly as per the rule of reservations and based on merit through the Entrance test which will be in Telugu (objective type) to be conducted at Two Examination Centres.

Exam Centres: 1. Horticultural College and Research Institute, Dr Y.S.R. Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem-534101, West Godavari District. 2. College of Horticulture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030.

List of Enclosures:​


1. Proof of age. (Date of Birth Certificate)
2. Attested copies of the marks statement of 10th standard and Diploma in Horticulture Course.
3. Latest Conduct Certificate issued by the Head of the Institute last attended that he/she has never been found guilty of misconduct during the study period and never been fined or punished.
4. Latest Caste Certificate (In case of SC/ST/BC’s) issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer
5. Certificates issued by the concerned authorities of State in the case of Special categories like Physically Disabled persons, NCC, SPORTS and CAP
6. Latest EWS (Reservation for Economically Weeker Section) Certificate issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer
7. Three passport size photographs (pasted on the application form and Hall ticket).
8. Original Demand draft for Rs.750/- for General/BC candidates and for Rs.375/- (Rupees Three hundred and seventy five only) in case of SC/ST /Physically Disabled persons drawn in favour of “COMPTROLLER, Dr.Y.S.R HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, payable at TADEPALLIGUDEM” Branch IFSC Code: “ANDB0000550” on any Nationalized Bank.

How to Apply for AP HORTICET: Interested candidates may apply for admission in the prescribed proforma (enclosed) along with a Demand Draft of Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven hundred and fifty only) for General/BC candidates and for Rs.375/- (Rupees Three hundred & seventy five only) in case of SC/ST/Differently abled persons drawn in favour of the “COMPTROLLER, Dr. Y.S.R HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, payable at TADEPALLIGUDEM” Branch IFSC Code:ANDB0000550 on any Nationalized Bank (Original DD should be attached with the application form).

Application form duly filled in should reach “The Registrar, Dr.Y.S.R Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem-534101, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh on or before the deadline by 4.00 PM either in person or by post. Applications received after the last date will not be entertained and Dr. YSRHU is not responsible for any postal delay.

AP HORTICET Hall Ticket 2023: The list of eligible candidates along with the Hall Ticket numbers will be displayed in the University website i.e., . Candidates who are appearing the entrance test may download Hall Ticket and attend the HORTICET test.

Candidates without MASK are not permitted to enter the Examination Centre. Candidates are allowed to carry the following items with them into the exam centre in view of COVID-19 pandemic. 1) Gloves 2) Personal transparent water bottle 3) A simple pen 4) Exam related material (ID Card etc.,) *No other item will be permitted inside the exam centre.

Qualifying Marks: Qualifying Marks for AP HORTICET: The qualifying percentage of marks for the HORTICET-2023 is 25% of the aggregate marks and in the case of SC/ST candidates there shall be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking the candidates in HORTICET being conducted by the Dr. YSRHU.

AP HORTICET Result: The merit list of the candidates will be displayed in the University website. For the preparation of merit list in case of more than one student securing the same marks, the tie shall be resolved by considering the following:

1. The percentage of aggregate marks secured in the qualifying examination i.e., OGPA in Diploma in Horticulture course. 2. If the tie still persists the date of birth of the concerned candidates shall be considered and elder one shall be given preference.

General Instructions

a) The University reserves the right to reject the application of the candidate at any stage, if
1. The application form is incomplete
2. The application form without proper Demand Draft
3. The candidate fails to satisfy the eligibility conditions
4. The application form received after the due date will be rejected.
b) The University is not responsible for non-receipt of application by the notified date and time for any reason * No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
