1 Donald Trump of the Republican Party is the 47th President of the United States
Republican Party ‘s Donald Trump has won the US presidential election by defeating Democrat Kamala Harris. He won a decisive victory by securing 277 electoral college votes . A presidential candidate needs 270 votes to win. The total number of seats in the US Parliament is 535, out of which 435 are members of the House of Representatives (HOR) and 100 are members of the Senate. Just like there is Lok Sabha in India, there is (House of Representatives) in the US. Just like there is Rajya Sabha in our country, there is Senate there. To win the presidential election, candidates have to secure a majority of 270 electoral votes out of a total of 538.
2 Cabinet approves PM Vidyalakshmi Yojana
The Union Cabinet chaired by PM Modi has approved the PM Vidyalakshmi Yojana , which aims to remove financial barriers to pursuing higher education for middle class students . Under this initiative , students enrolled in higher education institutions will be able to get loans without guarantor (collateral) . Union Information Minister Ashwini Vaishnav made this announcement after the cabinet meeting . Under the PM Vidyalakshmi Yojana, about 1 lakh students will be able to get education loans for their studies every year. Students whose family ‘s annual income is up to Rs 8 lakh will get an interest subsidy of three percent on loans up to Rs 10 lakh . Apart from this, students whose family’s annual income is up to Rs 4.5 lakh will continue to get interest-free grants as before .
3 Nitin Gadkari inaugurates Jain Museum and Knowledge Centre in Pune
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Abhay Prabhavana Museum and Knowledge Center on November 5. It has been built in Parwadi village of Maval taluka in Pune , Maharashtra . It cost around Rs 400 crore to develop. The Abhay Prabhavana Museum and Knowledge Center has been built by Firodia Institute of Philosophy , Culture and History , a division of Amar Prerna Trust, a charitable trust. Abhay Firodia, Chairman of Amar Prerna Trust, is the founder of ‘Abhay Prabhavana Museum and Knowledge Center’. The museum is built in an air-conditioned and curated space of 3.5 lakh square feet. It has 30 designed galleries, where the essence of Jain values is presented. The museum has been built with high-tech audio-visual technology, animation, virtual reality, interactive systems. It includes 350 specially created artifacts, sculptures and large models, which explain complex philosophical and spiritual concepts in a modern and easy way.
4 Central Government and Asian Development Bank signed a loan of 2 million dollars
The Central Government and the Asian Development Bank signed a $2 million loan to help improve water supply, sanitation and urban services in Uttarakhand . Speaking on the occasion, Juhi Mukherjee, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, said the project is in line with the central government’s urban development agenda as well as the Uttarakhand government’s initiative to enhance urban services. It aims to improve livability and promote sustainability in cities. The project will enhance transportation, urban mobility, drainage, flood management and overall public services in Haldwani. It will improve water supply in four cities of Uttarakhand.
5 Delhi government launches anti-open burning campaign
The Delhi government launched the Anti Open Burning Campaign on November 6 to control air pollution . Under this campaign, incidents of burning garbage in the open will be monitored. Also, action will be taken against those who violate it. Various agencies including Delhi Municipal Corporation have been deployed for this. 588 patrolling teams of the concerned departments will be deployed under the campaign. Apart from this, teams related to the anti-dust campaign have inspected 7,927 construction sites so far. 428 notices and challan action were taken on violation of guidelines at construction sites. Also, a fine of Rs 63 lakh has also been imposed.
6 Adoption Awareness Month 2024 observed
The Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating Adoption Awareness Month 2024 to raise awareness about the process of legal adoption of children in the country . This year the theme is – Rehabilitation of older children through the spirit of care and nurture . Central Adoption Resource Authority-CARA has planned a major campaign along with other programs to draw attention to adoption related issues, with emphasis on adoption of children who are older and have special needs. The Ministry will celebrate Adoption Awareness Month this year on November 21 in Lucknow , Uttar Pradesh .
7 NITI Aayog launched 15-day Jal Utsav to raise awareness on water conservation
NITI Aayog has launched a 15-day Jal Utsav (Water Festival ) from 6 November to 24 November to raise awareness about water management, conservation and ensuring sustainable availability . Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed the idea of celebrating Jal Utsav on the lines of River Festival during the Chief Secretaries Conference held in December last year. It has been organized by the National Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. During the fortnight, eminent personalities and local leaders will take the Jal Bandhan pledge and provide factual information on water resources.

9 Mandeep Jangra won the World Boxing Federation super featherweight world title in boxing
In Boxing , Indian boxer Mandeep Jangra has won the World Boxing Federation super featherweight world title in the Cayman Islands . He defeated Britain’s Conor McIntosh 10-0 in a unanimous decision. With this, Mandeep has become the first Indian boxer to become a world champion in any pro-boxing event category . Mandeep, who won a silver medal at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, has suffered only one defeat in his professional career so far. He has won 11 of his 12 bouts, seven of which are knockout wins.
