Hailing from Varanasi, Dr. Aditi Upadhyay studied at Sunbeam School Bhagwanpur. She dedicated her days to practicing medicine and her nights to preparing for the UPSC exam, ultimately achieving success in both fields. In 2013, she studied Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Dentistry at Banaras Hindu University, Banaras. According to her LinkedIn profile, Upadhyay pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health, Psychology from the Faculty of Social Sciences, BHU Regional Centre – IGNOU in 2022.

Congratulating her for achieving an All India Rank(AIR) 127, Banaras Hindu University took to LinkedIn and wrote,” #MakingBHUProud #BanarasHinduUniversity fraternity beams with pride on the success of Dr. Aditi Upadhyay in #UPSC2023 results. Speaking of her UPSC marks, Aditi scored 807 in the written examination and 180 marks in the personality test. Overall, she scored 987 in the UPSC Civil Services(Main) Examination, 2023. She achieved an All India Rank(AIR) 127.

Aditi started preparing for the UPSC exam while managing her duties as a doctor. Despite her busy schedule, she chose to study at night using online platforms, rather than attending offline coaching. This approach allowed her to balance her medical career with her aspirations of becoming a civil servant. According to the media reports, after clearing the UPSC mains exam, she took a break from her medical career to focus on preparing for the UPSC interview.
